Rental Agreement

This agreement is between you, the renter, and CampusBookRentals.com.

Condition of Books
Books rented from CampusBookRentals.com are guaranteed to be correct according to your order, and in an acceptable used or new condition. Hardback or paperback books will be shipped at CampusBookRentals.com's discretion and depending upon supplier availability. Books may also be an instructor's version if it is determined by CampusBookRentals.com that the instructor's version is identical to the student version (besides instructor comments). It is our policy to rent only US edition textbooks. Unlike many online booksellers, we guarantee our books to be US editions. Supplemental materials, such as student access codes, CD ROMs, or supplemental workbooks are not guaranteed to come with your books even if the title of the book contains language regarding CD ROMs or other forms of supplements. Although we strive to find books which include all their supplements, many such materials are one-time use and are not available through our suppliers in used condition. Be sure before you order that you either have access to these supplements or that you don't truly need them for your class.

Shipping
CampusBookRentals.com relies on the expertise of our shipping providers which are USPS, UPS, DHL, and FedEx to get your books to you on time; however, we cannot guarantee you will receive your books in the time frame selected. Rare problems such as weather, rural routes, or shipping carrier system delays could prevent timely delivery. CampusBookRentals.com agrees to work very closely with any customer that does not receive their book within the time frame selected. After a 24-48 hour processing period, please allow 7-14 business days (9-16 calendar days) for standard delivery, 5-8 business days (7-10 calendar days) for expedited delivery. Should a problem arise, CampusBookRentals.com will work very hard to track down the delivery problem or send out a replacement textbook at no cost to you.

Shipping time frames to APO and FPO addresses can not be guaranteed.

Ownership
Books rented from CampusBookRentals.com are the property of CampusBookRentals.com. At no time during the rental period does the renter obtain ownership of the books unless the renter purchases the book according to our service policy.

Agreement to Return Books
You agree to return rented textbooks to CampusBookRentals.com using the prepaid shipping envelope provided on or before the last day of your rental period or final day of your grace period.

Books not Returned on Time
We at CampusBookRentals.com hope to resolve any situation that might arise prior to it becoming a dispute. We will do our best to make returning your books simple and easy. As stated above, we even provide the return package with prepaid label already attached. If however, books are not returned at the end of the rental period (and after the grace period), as specified in the rental agreement, the renter will be notified via email that their card will be charged for the purchase of their book(s). The renter will have 3 (three) days to respond to the email and resolve the return with our customer service team. We work very hard to resolve every return discrepancy. After all, our wish is to keep you as a happy customer and continue to rent textbooks to you throughout your college career. If no attempt is made within 3 (three) days to dispute the return status, the renter's credit/debit card will be charged the difference between the rental price already paid and the value of the textbook. The value of the textbook is determined to be the value of the book at the time it was initially rented; not the value at the time the card is charged. Your customer account will also be updated to reflect that the book or books were purchased.

Maintenance and Care of Textbooks
You, the renter, agree to keep textbooks in an acceptable used condition. CampusBookRentals.com is liable and responsible for the condition of rented textbooks only until they are received by the renter at the onset of the rental period. At the time of initial receipt, you, the renter, take full responsibility for the textbook. If textbook is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond reasonable use (cover ripped off, pages torn out, excessive water damage, etc.) renter will be responsible to either replace textbook with textbook in similar condition, or be charged the full value for the textbook. CampusBookRentals.com understands normal wear and tear on a textbook. Excessive damage is any damage that would prevent another student from reasonably being able to use and gain the full learning value from the textbook. Our Insure-a-Book program protects you the renter against theft, loss, and damage.

Loss / Damage Protection
If you select the loss / damage protection option, should your book become lost, stolen, or damaged beyond reasonable use, we will promptly send you a replacement copy (if you still require the use of your book, or waive the full purchase fee). When you protect your books with our loss / damage protection program, you can worry about your studies, not your books. See our Example and Terms and Conditions below.

Example
A book that rents for $55 has a value of approximately $137. If this book was not protected and needed to be replaced, the student would be charged an additional $82. With the loss / damage protection however, the student would pay only a fee of $13.75 (fee is equal to 25% of the rental price) saving the student $68.25.

Terms and Conditions
Loss / damage protection is not required. Books can only be protected at the time of initial rental. The loss / damage protection price varies based on the book. Books not protected will be subject to CampusBookRentals.com’s terms for replacing lost, stolen, or damaged textbooks according to the Rental Agreement. Protection period for the covered books is for the term of the rental and grace period only. Protection will not transfer to any other book, including replacement book, unless it is also purchased on the replacement book at time of replacement. A fee in the amount of 25% of the rental price must be paid via credit card at time of any loss or damage claim. Protection only covers rented textbooks against loss, theft, or damage which deems the book unusable and invaluable to CampusBookRentals.com. Loss / damage fraud is strictly punished by law. CampusBookRentals.com reserves the right to decline loss / damage protection to customers if instances of fraud or misuse are detected. Customers are encouraged to keep a copy of their receipt as it displays which books are insured. Any claim must be made via email to info@campusbookrentals.com. Please submit your order number and ISBN or title of the book you are making claim against. Claims are processed within 24-48 hours excluding weekends and major holidays.

Right to Cancel Orders
CampusBookRentals.com retains the right to cancel or refuse any order that results from an error in pricing due to typographical errors, miscommunication with our partners, or any other incorrect information.

Refund and Return Policy
Any book returned within the first 30 days after the order date will receive a full refund.

Liability
CampusBookRentals.com shall not be held liable for any damages incurred, either physical or emotional, tangible or intangible, beyond the rental price of the textbook. Books which are lost in transit will be replaced at no extra charge; however, CampusBookRentals.com shall not be held liable for poor performance in school or any other tort stemming from the rental or non receipt of your textbooks.

Rental Periods
We have structured our rental periods to fit the needs of a college student. The last thing we want is you worrying about not getting your book back to us on time. We have incorporated, at no extra charge, a grace period which allows you to rent your book early or hold on to it late in the case of a later than normal final exam. Each rental period and our grace period are discussed in detail below. Grace Period
All of our rental periods come with a 15 (fifteen) day grace period. We've been in your shoes. Sometimes you would like to get your books early, or you need to take a make-up final exam. Our 15 day grace period allows you the flexibility to hold on to the book long enough to get you through to the bitter end. Don't hesitate to use it. That's why it's there! The grace period applies to all of the rental periods below (for example, the 130 day rental period allows a student to keep the book for 145 days if necessary at absolutely no extra cost).

Semester (130 days)
This rental period was designed for students attending full semesters. The rental period begins on the day your books are delivered and ends 130 (one hundred thirty) days thereafter. All textbooks rented under this rental period must be postmarked by the 130th day from the day your books were delivered, unless you are taking advantage of the 15 day grace period. See how easy the return process is in the "Return Your Books" section below.

Quarter (85 days)
This rental period is used mainly by students on quarters or in a Master’s program. The rental period begins on the day your books are delivered and ends 85 (eighty-five) days thereafter. All textbooks rented under this rental period must be postmarked by the 85th day from the day your books were delivered, unless you are taking advantage of the 15 day grace period. See how easy the return process is in the "Return Your Books" section below.

Summer (55 days)
This rental period is used mainly by students taking summer courses or those taking intense (condensed) courses year round. The rental period begins on the day your books are delivered and ends 55 (fifty-five) days thereafter. All textbooks rented under this rental period must be postmarked by the 55th day from the day your books were delivered, unless you are taking advantage of the 15 day grace period. See how easy the return process is in the "Return Your Books" section below.

Extensions
We offer 15 and 30 day extensions if you find yourself needing to keep your book just a bit longer. Extending your rental period is easy. Simply access your account, choose the amount of time to extend, and checkout. Your account will be updated to show the new rental period.

Re-Renting
If you need to retake a class you can re-rent your book for 30% less than the original rental price. This still saves you big time over purchasing it. Simply access your account, select the “Re-Rent” button and continue the checkout process. Your account will be updated to show the new status.

Buying Your Books
If you decide you want to keep your book forever, simply access your account and select the book or books you wish to buy. Then select the "Buy and Keep My Books" button. This amount is the difference between what you already paid in rental fees and the value of the book. If you decide to purchase the book, simply complete the checkout process. Your account will be updated to show the new status.

CampusBookRentals.com retains the right to use collection agencies to recover costs on non-returned textbooks in the event of a canceled credit card or a credit card without available funds.

You, the renter, agree to resolve disputes directly with CampusBookRentals.com and not through a third party.

CampusBookRentals.com agrees to keep all your personal and payment information confidential in accordance with our privacy policy.
