I wouldn't recommend it, Not good for visual learners The content of the book is standard. Gives a brief history of the time periods and motivations behind the styles but lacks the images to substantiate the detailed descriptions of garments. So, often times I'd myself googling garments since it was difficult visualizing many of the articles of clothing described throughout the book. If you're not a visual person than you might be fine. Also, though our professor assigned us this book, she'd often argue with some of the info stated in the book, often arguing that they aren't backed with sufficient evidence. Anyways...If it wasn't for my professor getting test questions out of the book , then I wouldn't bother having anything to do with this book. March 14, 2012
